Hamasaki Ayumi Holding Her Annual New Years Count Down at Yoyogi National Stadium!

It has been revealed that popular pop-singer Hamasaki Ayumi will be holding her special New Year's countdown, which is a huge annual event, at Yoyogi Stadium this year.

The concerts will be held from December 29th to December 31st, whereas the last performance is of course scheduled to last until the beginning of the new year, starting as late as 22:30 that day.

The whole event will be held under the title "HOTEL Love songs" and seems to be a real must for fans. General sales are scheduled to start on December 10th.

Hamasaki Ayumi: Tears during Encore “We have overcome many things” Finale for Nationwide Tour Postponed after Earthquake Disaster

Singer Hamasaki Ayumi (33) concluded her nationwide tour 「ayumi hamasaki ～POWER of MUSIC～」 on the 19th at Saitama Super Arena. In summary, Hamasaki stated that “Today is the finale! We have overcome lots of different things thus far…”. Following that with “For all those who can’t take part today, let’s sing, dance and party for them!”, she stirred the spirits of the 25,000 audience members.

During the encore’s charity song 「A Song is born」, she seemed overcome with emotion. Crying as she sang, she continued on passionately despite stopping many times because of her tears. Starting out with new song 「progress」, the nationwide tour included 21 songs including the encore, performing at 10 locations around Japan, with 28 shows and about 280,000 audience.

The tour, which was planned to begin from 9 April, was postponed after the Eastern Japan Earthquake Disaster. The 8 shows from 9~30 April, as well as the 2~3 July shows in Miyagi Prefecture’s Sekisuiheim Super Arena, were cancelled. With a new title 「ayumi hamasaki ～POWER of MUSIC～2011」, the tour began anew. With the “power of music” as its theme, Hamasaki challenged the 360-degree centre stage, and used a full orchestra as a base for the entire concert.

The original concept of the tour did away with huge stage props, flashy performances and even costume changes. As the affected regions started to recover, Hamasaki wished to send out the message “Let’s not remain in sorrow, but face forward and progress, while never forgetting this”. The setlist and performances slowly evolved, with the addition of special effects and costume changes. During the finale, she revealed 9 different costumes, and together with 13 dancers, 6 performers, 8 band members and 16 orchestra players, the live was brought to the grand close.

October’s new setlist included new song 「progress」, performed in a mini-dress adorned with ostrich feathers. 「BRILLANTE」 was sung with a strong voice, accompanied by flaming torches and a long red dress. Halfway through the show, guests Urata Naoya from dance-vocal unit 「AAA」 and JUNO, Korean boyband unit 「JYJ」 member Junsu’s elder twin brother, gave passionate performances of 「ANother song」 and 「Why…」 with Hamasaki respectively, in the midst of cheering audience. 「SEASONS」 was performed in a pink tutu dress, and she engaged the audience with the words “Everyone here, sing this song with me~”.

With regards to this tour, Hamasaki gave a comment to the media, “From that day (of the disaster) on, moment by moment, Japan’s situation is changing. I hold this fact, plus various emotions and events along the way that I will never forget, in my heart, and the live continued to evolve. And because I believed in the power of music, I managed to pull through to the very end”. Happily, she added, “I will continue to sing, hoping to bring love and hope through my songs to all those people around Japan who are still holding on”. This live was also broadcast to a limited audience of 15,000 on 「Ameba Pigg」.

Reportedly across major Japanese news sites was both Ayu and JUNO's visit to new fashion store "LANDS of Eden" at Laforet Harajuku Department Store and Museum on 8th October! LANDS of Eden was opened on the 17th September this year and the company was holding a campaign known as "Who is Adam & Eve?", showing only an image of JUNO holding a mysterious woman back then. The mysterious woman whose identity was rather obvious among her fans was recently revealed as Ayumi Hamasaki on more promotional photos below (large photos via Aderianu).

Hamasaki Ayumi: 420,000yen Shopping at Harajuku, Visits LANDS of Eden. Store Arm-in-arm with JUNO

On the 8th, singer Hamasaki Ayumi, together with JUNO, the elder twin brother of Junsu from the 3-man Korean unit 「JYJ」 visited the store of fashion brand 「LANDS of Eden.」 at la foret Harajuku. Amidst cheers from the shoppers, the two stayed in the store for about 20 minutes picking items, finally leaving with 6 bags filled with 31 items, costing a grand total of 429,800yen. Changing into a striped long knitted parka, Hamasaki appeared at the storefront again, posing for the cameras while holding onto JUNO’s arm. With a smile, she stated “JUNO picked this for me. Do I like it? Yes, I do.”

「LANDS of Eden.」 opened its first store at la foret Harajuku on 17 September, and is a fashion brand with a relaxed, vintage concept. Before that, advertisements outside the building and at the storefront displayed JUNO holding a mystery lady in his arms. Much discussion sprang up regarding the identity of the beauty, and on the 7th this month, a new advertisement featuring Hamasaki and JUNO was revealed. In order to commemorate the release of this new visual, the two paid the store a visit.

The two came to the store a little after 6pm. After signing her autograph on the advertisment visual next to the store’s entrance, Hamasaki waved to all the cheering shoppers around. With that, she entered the store and did her shopping, all the while accompanied by a shopkeeper recommending items. After changing, a khaki and beige striped long knitted parka for Hamasaki and a blue and grey knitted top for JUNO, the two left the store in the midst of flashing media cameras.

On the 16th, singer Hamasaki Ayumi (32) missed her live appearance on TV Asahi’s “Music Station”‘s 25th Anniversary Special Programme. On her website, Hamasaki stated that she “could not board flights due to an illness”.

Following this, an aplogy message was also posted onto her fanclub site. She wrote “I’m really regretful, pained, and sorry for causing such trouble. I’m really sorry.”, a message meant for the music programme staff, other performing artists, her band members and fans.

According to staff, Hamasaki travelled to New York earlier this month for work, after a brief stop in Hong Kong. Due to a delay in her calendar photoshoot schedule, she changed her flight back. After that, she caught a cold and developed acute pharyngitis, and was unable to board her new flight home. On Twitter, she tweeted about her mad rush to get flight tickets, and also revealed how her staff mixed up flight times by an hour.

Hamasaki’s performance had been announced on newspaper TV listings, and it was revealed that she was going to perform 「beloved」 from her new mini-album 「FIVE」. During the music programme’s opening, hosts Takeuchi Yoshie gave an explanation and apologized for Hamasaki’s absence. During December 2008, Hamasaki also suddenly cancelled an appearance on MSta due to a wrist injury.

These overly photoshopped messes are the album covers to Robot face's forthcoming mini album. Yes. This bitch is back on the grind with a new release. The day this woman decides to take more than a year off from music, is the day Avex is in trouble. Because Ayu be keeping people on payrolls.

These covers are Adobe'd to absolute death! Is that DVD + CD edition cover even a photo!? It looks like a damn CG render. Hot mess. But I'm liking the CD edition. Robot face looks hot. Very 1980's Madonna. And one of her first album covers in quite a while where she's played up the sex. Could she be feeling the looming hand of Kumi Kohovah reaching for her wig? Perhaps it's the reason why she decided to ditch it and rock her natural hair. P'ah! Like Kumi cares. She'll pull a bitches shit out of the roots like Princess Toadstool on a turnip in Super Mario bros. 2.

In true Ayu fashion every damn song on the mini album will come with its own music video. Ayumi has been falling off with some of her videos as of late. I remember the days when this bitch was throwing down Legend of Zelda style treasure chests of money to get videos shot. Now she be pulling budgets out of her purse. I need an overblown, expensive video from this woman. And I need it NAOW!

Ayumi’s Sudden Withdrawal From “Closing Stage”

Singer Hamasaki Ayumi (32) revealed via her personal twitter that she chose to back out from doing her annual closing stage, creating an issue. It was said that this was a way of showing objections towards her company Avex, but what exactly happened?

This event in question was organized by Avex, the summer outdoor festival “a-nation.” Hamasaki Ayumi had, aside from the first year, been the closing act for 8 consecutive years, yet she did not do so starting from the 27 August performance in Tokyo, to the surprise of many fans.

■ Feeling of distrust for the event due to co-performer’s appearance termination

Instead of Hamasaki Ayumi, the closing stage was performed by the Korean male idol group who had been reduced from 5 members to 2 members, the reborn “Tohoshinki.” Hamasaki Ayumi performed just before Tohoshinki.

According to reports, the reason given was “convenience of performance” but pre-event materials for the media showed that Hamasaki Ayumi would be the closing act. Because of this, there were many speculations discussed on the internet. There was also the opinion that this was done as a strategy to combat the fact that fans would start leaving after the Tohoshinki performance.

In the three days after the event, replying to questions posed to her, Hamasaki Ayumi explained why she had not been the closing act.

According to this, the a-nation event song setlist had included the song from her mini album to be released on 31 August, with Korean artist Juno (24). Juno is the twin brother of Junsu, one of the members of “JYJ,” the unit that broke away from Tohoshinki. Juno’s appearance was suddenly terminated, and instead AAA’s Urata Naoya (28) who would be performing together with her for another song in her mini-album, would be singing Juno’s song.

Because of this, Hamasaki Ayumi bore distrust for the a-nation event, and showed her objections to the organisers, Avex. She considered pulling out of the performance, but after considering about the fans and staff, she decided to stay. Instead, she requested to pull out from doing the closing act for the two Tokyo performance days.

■ Dissention concerning Tohoshinki a reason?

With regards to her sudden pulling out, Hamasaki Ayumi said “The important thing is not “how can it be seen” but “how to protect it,” and this is the belief that resulted in everything that has happened today,” she explained in her tweet. After her own revelation of this matter, the Tohoshinki fans became confused.

Hamasaki Ayumi did not offer any explanation as to why Juno’s performance was cancelled. But without knowing the actual truth, there were speculations concerning Tohoshinki and the dissention due to the lawsuit between JYJ and their Korean management company SM Entertainment. On the internet, judging from the circumstances, suspicions such as the fact that the SM side had shown their displeasure with the appearance of Juno, brother of JYJ’s Junsu and other similar speculations have surfaced.

SM Entertainment Japan, when asked about this matter, said “As we have entrusted this matter to Avex, please direct your questions to them. As for matters regarding Juno, as he is not managed by our company, we cannot give an answer.”

We tried to contact Avex Entertainment about this, but the spokesperson could not be contacted.
